Amelia founded Amelia Maxwell after working for two galleries for over 10 years and saw an opportunity to provide collectors with a personal art buying and advisory service. Amelia Maxwell provides specialist, independent art consultancy services to new and established collectors, as well as corporate clients looking to enhance the aesthetic of their hotels, offices, residences and restaurants. With over a decade’s industry experience, Amelia applies her extensive knowledge of the arts market, enviable international network of contacts and commercial know-how to help clients artfully navigate the sector, ensuring that they make informed choices based upon the latest trends and intelligence. The London-based global practice adopts a personalised approach, designed to meet the needs of individual clients, and is focused on two key areas: independent, objective advice and consultation – with no obligation to buy; and support with the purchase of art including negotiation to ensure a fair price, pre- and post-sale logistics and installation. To ensure full transparency, Amelia only ever represents the interests of her clients and all services have a fixed (and very competitive) price. Amelia is committed to demystifying the global arts market, with greater transparency attracting new audiences previously deterred and intimidated by its opacity. Her art practice is designed to work hand-in-hand with clients and collectors, her forensic due diligence and negotiation skills de-risk purchases, whilst she also enjoys privileged access to private collections and otherwise hidden treasures around the world thanks to her ‘little black book’. Art – even in the corporate environment or when bought as an investment – is a very personal subject.
